Joost PT is a unique personal training project that has come to life in a familiar environment. What was once a stable at Joost’s childhood home has now been transformed into a modern and versatile PT studio. Joost, who has years of experience working in various gyms, took the leap in July to open his own space, inspired by a long-held dream. The stable, where his father keeps horses, has undergone a complete transformation. Of the five horse stalls, three have been converted into a PT studio. We were given the opportunity to design this studio and supply all the necessary equipment.
A space tailored for a personal approach
Joost shares: "Since July this year, I’ve been working in my own studio. Before that, I worked in several gyms, always with the idea of starting my own business. Initially, I wasn’t ready to take that step and wanted to gain more experience, but after 12 years, I felt confident enough to go for it. I’m still grateful every day that I made that decision."
Joost offers personal training in the form of 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 sessions. The space is perfectly suited to this personal approach and also provides the possibility for sports massages. The wide range of equipment available supports the diversity of his training offerings. His clientele spans ages 18 to 74, something Joost values greatly in his work. “The most important thing in a training session is that the client is at the centre. What are their goals? But also, what do they enjoy doing, and what does their body allow or not? The beauty of personal training is that you build a bond with each client, often going deeper than just training and pushing limits.”
Lifemaxx equipment: "quality and reliability"
For the layout of Joost PT, we worked closely with Joost to carefully select the right equipment. From the flooring and the rig to racks, a bench, a boxing bag, and free weights like barbells, bumper plates, and dumbbells – all equipment was chosen to make the training space complete and efficient. Extras such as a plyo box, mats, steps, and gym balls ensure the space is perfectly suited to a wide range of training needs.
Joost chose Lifemaxx for its personal approach and product quality: “I chose Lifemaxx because I really like that it’s a family business. The interaction with everyone at Lifemaxx is always friendly. On top of that, the products they offer are of good quality, and I don’t feel overcharged. Service is more important than pushing expensive or excessive equipment, and that’s something I value highly!”
This project is a beautiful example of how a familiar, personal space can be transformed into a professional PT studio. We’re proud to have supported Joost in making his dream a reality and wish him every success with Joost PT!
