At Lifemaxx, we take pride in working with passionate entrepreneurs like Quint van Stralen and Joost Versluis, the founders of Home of Performance. This functional fitness gym, located in the heart of Rotterdam and focused on group classes and Personal Training, is a prime example of what can be achieved with a clear vision and the right support. For Quint and Joost, it was crucial to create a unique gym that not only prioritises performance but also fosters a close community. We had the privilege of helping them bring this dream to life.
A clear vision and local partnership
Quint and Joost consciously chose Lifemaxx for our local involvement and personal approach. “We had a tight two-month deadline to complete the gym, and Lifemaxx played a key role in supporting us quickly and efficiently,” says Quint. It was important for them to partner with a Rotterdam-based company that could help them realise their vision. Our showroom in Rotterdam also gave them the opportunity to see the materials up close and discuss their plans with us.
“We immediately had a good feeling when we walked in,” says Joost. “The service was excellent, and the personal contact with Arwin gave us the confidence to choose Lifemaxx.”
Custom design and execution
To ensure the gym met the exact requirements of Quint and Joost, we worked closely with them from the start. Through 3D designs and precise laser measurements, we were able to make the most of the available space. “Arwin came by with his equipment and perfectly brought our vision to life. The 3D drawing we received was exactly what we had in mind,” Quint shares enthusiastically.
We supplied and installed a range of equipment to make Home of Performance a fully equipped gym, including:

Crossmaxx® coloured bumper plates, barbells, and other weights for a variety of workouts.
LMX.® Soft plyo boxes for explosive jump training.
And a wide range of accessories to fully complete the gym.
“What stood out to us most was how quickly Lifemaxx was able to deliver everything. That was essential for us, as we had to complete everything within two months,” says Quint.
Service and flexibility
One of the reasons Quint and Joost chose Lifemaxx was our service and flexibility. “The fact that Lifemaxx is so close by and could help us immediately when needed gave us great confidence,” says Joost. “They were honest in their advice, helped us save costs where possible, and really thought about what was best for our gym.”
The close collaboration ensured that Home of Performance was transformed into a fully functional gym in a short time, with a professional look that impresses everyone who walks through the door.
Future plans
With Home of Performance, Quint and Joost have created a unique gym with a strong sense of community. While they are currently focused on strengthening their position in Rotterdam, they are also looking at potential future expansions.
