When you think of Claudia, you don't only think about crossfit, but also about Throwdowns! This lady organizes one after another successful Throwdown and does this with lots of love and fun! But how exactly does she pull that off? Claudia gives you a little peek behind-the-scenes:
"The reason I started organizing Meet me at the bar was mainly because I wanted to make Crossfit Amersfoort more known. Because my husband Erwin participated in a lot of Throwdowns, I also noticed that the Throwdowns where only reachable for the more advanced crossfitters. You had to qualify for them. This was something I wanted to change! Meet me at the bar became an event where every crossfitter gets a change to compete, without having to work your way through qualifiers.
At the Bar Events
I asked Kim and Lonneke to help me and At the bar events was a fact! We make teams of four, which we set up ourselves, with the idea that you get to know other crossfitters. In addition, you experience working out with strangers, which usually leads to nice friendships.
Everyone is a winner at this event, so in the end we raffle the prizes we get offered from our vendors! I can certainly say that it's always a lot of fun!
Meet Me is a super popular event, we are already busy with the 6th edition!
This will take place on 19 May 2018 at Crossfit Amersfoort. (See Facebook)
In 2015, we thought it would be fun if we were to give the Masters (always an underdog in crossfit, certainly back then) a personal event.
The first event was at Crossfit Amersfoort, super exciting of course, and it was awesome! Because it was such a success, we dared to expand, adding another group; the teens!
Next level
A bigger event should not mean a loss of the nice atmosphere we have, so we had to look for the perfect location. We found that in the Prodentfabriek in Amersfoort, where the second edition took place last January. It became really serious with many international athletes, and of course we had to look for sponsors. Crossmaxx® has supported us from day one, and we are very grateful for that. Many other companies have also given us the confidence which we are very pleased with. We put high demands on our event and do not deviate from it.
We are the event!
Our strength is that all three of us are very different and everyone has their own strength within the organization. We also let each other as free as possible. We have meetings throughout the year when we update each other, we visit the factory again, discuss new ideas, are busy with vendors and sponsors and wods. Our energy for this event is always present. We are the event!
It's worth the hard work!
We attach great value to happy, satisfied people. Whether you are the athlete, the vendor, the volunteer or the public. We really do our utmost to reach this, and this shows through the fact that we already have a lot of volunteer registrations. Many of them are the same as last year and they even signed up for both days! We will also work together with the same sponsors and vendors and we have many new ones! Really cool!
The people we work with are of course our strength, like Peter, our MC (without Peter no party!) Our head judges; Marcel, Jerry and Dennis, Judges, Demo Man Jordy, Volunteers, Vendors and Sponsors. Without them we can not set up an event like this. We are all well aware of this! It's hard work and a lot of fun, but so awesome!
High 5
